    Morning!

As mother's day is approaching I am being asked by my boys for gift ideas. I was thinking I'd quite like an app enabled thermometer for the greenhouse that I could monitor from my phone while I work. My greenhouse is small so it can heat up quite fast once the sun is on it and I'm not sure I quite trust the readings my current thermometer is giving (it said the other day it was well over 30 while I was working in there and there was no chance, I think the sun was just on the thermometer). Anyway, has anyone tried one of these devices? I don't need anything fancy or pricey and it's more just for me to get an idea of how the temp changes over the day and over time through the year as a bit of a fun data gathering project.
    Cheers!

It's really important that whatever thermometer to use is well shaded and not sited directly over a sunlit floor. This is actually quite hard to achieve in a greenhouse.

My remote reading thermometer is part of the whole greenhouse control system - all a home brewed raspberry pi lash up.
I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

Yes...its proving very difficult to find a suitable spot for my current thermometer and I'm getting wildly off readings on sunny days! Raspberry pi is way beyond my non-existent coding skills so definitely need something that would be ready to go out of the box, as soon as I find a vaguely shaded corner!
