Replacing Missing Glass...

My freebie greenhouse came with lots of glass panels missing or broken.
Glass is incredibly expensive!
I have been looking at acrylic and polycarbonate panels.
The cheapest I have found is Ariel Clear Polycarbonate Multiwall Roofing sheet (L)1.22m (W)1220mm (T)4mm | DIY at B&Q
I have only ever had glass in a greenhouse and have read pros and cons for polycarb and acrylic.
Where is the best place to fit the new panes? I was thinking at the back or bottom.
Any thoughts from people who already have experience of polycarbonate?

The only experience I have is when one of my neighbours had some polycarbonate sheets in his. In high winds they tended to turn into "flying saucers". He ended up drilling and cable tieing them to the frame.

I've found glass to be noticably cheaper than polycarbonate or acrylic sheet! Look for a glass shop, rather than a diy shop that then buys from the glass shop and marks the price up.

If you have unbroken panes of the same size and shape as the broken ones, take them to the glass shop and they will use them as templates to cut the new sheets.

+1 for Mark Rand 's advice about glass suppliers.

When we were given our greenhouse some panes were missing. Previous owner warned that no two panes were same size nor were any corners 90°. Cut cardboard templates to be safe.

If you do use glass ring round lots of places. Some of my greenhouses have some standard 2 feet square sheets, and 2 feet x 18 inch sheets. One local garden centre sells these either singly or in packs of 6 far cheaper than anywhere else. Of course it is usually the shaped sheets I need. I go to a glass shop then and they cut it for me. We did once try to cut our own 🥺🥴🤯. We were both equally bad at it. The professionals make it look so easy.......

We used to get ours from a glass suppliers too.
Also kept a few spare for the Spring when we had storms and the suppliers would be out of stock due to high demand
