  • Urgent advice please

Yesterday evening my wife managed to take the door off my 8 X 6 and smash all the glass.
Managed to rig up some heavy gauge polyethylene with bulldog clips in the cold and dark.
I was going to order some 4mm replacement glass but it occurred to me that 4mm twin wall polycarbonate might do.
The door is north facing so light not crucial.
Anyone used this please? Will the W clips hold it in?

My neighbour had polycarbonate panels. The only problem he had was that in high winds they turned into lethal flying frisbees! He ended up sticking them in with sealant, using W clips and eventually drilling holes in the corners and cable tieing them too. His greenhouse wasn't in that windy a location.

I needed to replace a large pane of tuffened glass in my greenhouse, but as it was quite pricey I decided to use a 4mil. polycarbonate sheet instead, as I do get high winds I run a bead of good quality silicon sealant round the frame fitted the polycab then on the outside using a strip of wood, bored a hole through the wood the polycarbonate and the greenhouse frame securing it with thin bolts and washers, was going to use self tapping screws but always a danger of getting caught by them
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I got 4mm polycarb mail order from firm that cut it to size.

I doubled up on the W clips and it is also wedged with bubblewrap insulation.

        So far so good.
