  • Polytunnel v Greenhouse

What's the difference? Can they be used in the same way?

We've got a fairly large unheated greenhouse, but its very old and very rotten. OH thinks it may only last a couple more years.

We've got space to have a fairly large polytunnel, but can they be used for the same things, i.e. tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers etc?

    Cheers

Yes they can. The main difference is that the ventelations is easier to acheive in a greenhouse, you dont suffer with as much condensation in a greenhouse & a greenhouse is warmer in winter as it's easier to insulate. That having been said as 20 x 10 polytunnel is around £400 give or take where as a decent greenhouse that size would be £1200 you can buy a lot of polythene covers for £800 !!
