Making the most of the greenhouse space

I've been in my greenhouse lately thinking about how to make the most of my space and it has dawned on me that I don't have any pots/containers to actually grow things in well okay, I have module trays but I'm thinking about herbs/chillies etc when they are big enough to transfer.

So, I've come across some bag-come-pots and was wondering if anyone else has used them before:

Are these practical/cost effective?

How do I make the most of my greenhouse space? I have a shelving unit already in place-are shelves the best way forward?

An old compost bag , a pair of scissors and a stapler and you have them for free , any size you need.

As for greenhouse space ..
In spring it's a case of musical chairs. Fitting in propogator, heating a sectioned off area. A cold unheated bench section.
Also a cold frame helps to remove hardier items.
Also a small plastic leanto or little greenhouse.
Only heat things that need it. Window sills in the house are useful if enough light.

Recycle old food packagings etc. things like the trays you buy mushrooms in for instance would grow the herbs perfect, make holes for drainage, add compost and firm down, broadcast the seeds thinly and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost. Oh yeah and moisten the compost before sowing seed to minimise disturbance.

You'll be supprised at what things make perfect pots, as long as they can drain you can use anything. Jamie Oliver grew a mini tomato plant out of an old tin of toms.

i remember when i was little my dad used old yoghurt pots and plastic cups from vending machines.

i've just been given a lot by a neighbour!

ask around and you will be amazed at what people have got and what they use!

i think 9.99 for those is alot to pay to be honest...

The poly pots are fine if you don't plan to move them... They're a bit flimsy and prone to losing the compost if you try and move them around
Best use of space I've found is to have shelf units which you can move ouside once your tomato plants etc are big enough to go on the floor. Even peppers and chillis get a bit big to sit on shelves!
