  • Joining two greenhouses?

I'm looking to buy another greenhouse and want one about 6x12, they are quite expensive though - so I thought I could buy 2 smaller ones from B&Q (15% off at the mo) and join them together (total cost approx £350.00). What do you think?

I joined two freecycle 8 x 6 ones side by side. I took the glass out of the sides and kept it safe, adapted the gutters to fit into each other and fitted a fillet of wood where they just didnt meet.

It worked ok, the bigger area gave better air flow, however end on may be easier to do and more manageable.

Thats what I was thinking, kind of leave the back off of one and the front off the other and join both together

However if you join them end on end,you will need to cross brace on the join on the inside from gutter to gutter.... I think this will be stronger than a join on its own. An even better Idea would be to leave either the one front or back on, with no glass and keep the metal work. this would be more structurally sound, however astetically, I think the gutter to gutter brace would suffice ( However depending on your height, you could knock your noggin!)

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

I have 2 butted end to end on the allotment, the glass is removed from the joined ends and it is siliconed round the whole joint. As they are on a concrete base they dont move at all but if you are not useing a solid base then you will need to fasten then together somehow.

Why not have a door at each end for ventilation?

If you can live with out the additional 24" how about this:

              Clearance 6x10

I ordered this, they do not specify what make/model it actually is - however I can reveal that mine arrived and is a Vitavia Venus. I am part way through construction and it seems pretty good - would save you joining 2 together....
