I could do with a 3 foot wide bench of some sorts, ideally two tiers at the bottom end of my greenhouse but don't fancy paying £60+ for it. Anyone any suggestions?? That green plastic stuff Argos sell for £20 looks the same stuff as you find inside a plastic growhouse affair, which is pretty poor so don't fancy that.

get some 2" x 1" roofing laths from your local wood yard and make it. I built mine like that for my 12x8 and I reckon it cost £30 for the lot thats 2 sides and a permanent propagating bench in the end.
If you want it to stay there you could use some fence posts for the uprights and them make the shelves on that. If you want it really posh you can paint it with cuprinol shades Mine has a gap of about 10mm between the the laths so there's good air flow around the pots. Come the summer mine goes outside as I need the floor space.

In Staffordshire we have a chain of cheapie stores called B & M - don't know if they are national, but they have the shelving like you get in a plastic growhouse for £10. With some superglue as suggested by Sarzwiz this could be a good cheap alternative? When my greenhouse arrives I'm going to get some - 'proper' staging is much too expensive. I've spent more than I intended on my gh!

I too am using this insides of a plastic greenhouse for supports either end and have layed 2 6"x1" 5ft long planks across with gaps between for air flow. It does the job fine and will be easy to remove and store in the summer as i will need the floor space

Same here, the staging advertised for the home grower seems to be too overpriced and flimsy. I am seriously thinking of going for a commercial packing bench. It would appear to be cheaper and certainly stronger although might require a few holes drilling in the shelves to allow drainage, or at least some protection to prevent them rotting as they may well be chipboard or the like.
One such bench is available at this link ShelfSave > Industrial WorkbenchShepperton. Home to some Great British movies.

I've got that same shelving in my garage Juleas, and the shelves are made from MDF so be careful with drilling them etc - you need a dust mask on at the least. But you will also need to waterproof them somehow - mine grow mould if they get damp... Eeeuuww!
