  • Norfolk Greenhouse (U5a Greenhouse 6) - HELP!?

    Hi. Hoping someone can help.

I have a Norfolk Greenhouse, model (U5a) Greenhouse 6 with double doors.

I can't, for the life of me, work out how to assemble and install the back window or doors. The instructions are appalling and no matter what I try I end up without a sliding window.

It has completely ruined what was meant to be a fun project. Now all I'm getting is earache about the time it's taking and frustration, myself, that I can't even manage a 6' greenhouse.

    Am I just getting old?
Are the Norfolk, or plastic, greenhouses reknowned for this?
    Can anyone help?

Even just a photo of your own one because the instructions don't actually have a picture of the sliding window.

    Really appreciate it. Thank you.

    Regards
    Mr Headache.

Norfolk are notorious for having rubbish instructions I'm afraid I wish I could help you, but my Norfolks are both standard types with a single door and a different window.

Really hope you get it sorted - have you tried telephoning Norfolk? I had to ring them about something on mine and they were really helpful.

      Thanks Sarah,
I'll try them in the morning.
The sliding window at the back, versus the instructions they've provided, are simply unidentifiable as being the same thing. Worse than that, there isn't even a picture provided, of the assembled window, to compare it to.
Because it's an old model, there's no image on the Norfolk website.
Pulling my hair out for weeks now.
If anyone has an image of the Norfolk 6 back window, I'd be mightly grateful.
      Thank you.

They're renowned, I'm afraid. Like, how much extra would it cost to include usable instructions?

The rear window on ours just kept falling out, then broke, and is now hanging on by a piece of string.

          Wow, what a nightmare.

Can I offer you a virtual cup of tea and penguin biscuit? It's all I've got in at the moment.

Give it half an hour and you can have a virtual chip buttie as well.

Someone I am sure will be along to help soon, these have been ranted about before if I remember correctly.

[Mine is coming tomorrow, being fitted by the people who make it, I'm thought it was worth paying extra for the fitting and it looks like that might have been a good decision].

Could you pop up photos of it so far.....I'm a bit of a dab hand at putting stuff together so we might be able to help work it out for you...with some close ups of the fittings that you've got...

Very wise plan. Putting ours up nearly ended in divorce!

                  Got it....I think

I think I've managed the window at the back, but not without having to compromise on the supposed instructions. It really doesn't look right, but it slides up and down which is as much as I could hope for, I guess.

They really are flimsy though. Very poor quality greenhouse with pathetic instructions.

Thanks for the advice and assistance offered. I guess I just picked a turkey when it comes to providing adequate instructions.

                  Cheers

Sounds like yours will be up before mine, they can't get it through the back gate and the floor dimensions are bigger than they advertised, so we've got to get our heads together when the OH comes home and decide whether we can lose another half a foot of space....it's close as it is.
