  • Brass hose fittings

    Afternoon all

Has anyone tried the brass hose fittings that you can now get for your Hozelock type hose (12mm)?

Aside from the obvious benefit in longevity, do they fit better than the plastic ones? I always find I get a drip drip drip from the plastic ones but don't want to fork out for them if the same thing happens.

    thanks

Where are you buying them from?

I tried one, I think from Focus? Not sure though, it kept blowing off the hose with the water pressure, useless. I chucked it in the end and bought a decent hozelock one.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

I have used brass ones for several years (but only on the small section of hose that connects the tap to the hose reel). Believe it or not they were a lot cheaper than Hoselock fittings. I purchased them from Screwfix. Be careful what you buy. I have seen some in DIY stores that look very 'light wieght'. The brass fittings can be a bit stiff and difficult to disconect sometimes so I do use a Hoselock connector on the end of the hose that I connect to the watering wand or nozzle.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

I've seen them up homebase, but think they are £15 or around that mark
