From our experience polycarbonate is not a very good glazing medium.

We had two cold frames with polycarbonate sheeting panes. They were all right for the first year, but then the sheets started to 'blow away'. The problem is that the aluminium frames are solid, and the polycarbonate sheets are flexible. The sheets will never stay in place, unless you go to the lengths of sticking them in place.

In our case, another bright idea consigned to the bin.

My polycarb sheets took off like kites this afternoon.

After I recovered them from neighbouring gardens I placed them on the grass - going to give them a scrub and dab some silicone on them. Fortunately my neighbour has an empty greenhouse - well, it was empty.

Can't you put glass in the most vulerable side? Or must it be polycarb? If it must be plastic, try slowly replacing the panels with 4-6mm thick makralon.
