    I've always wanted to make my own wine but not got round to it. It's a question of getting the equipment as there are lots of things I could use to make it. I really will do it one day. Your elderflower wine sounds delicious.

    Hi Penny ... hope you have better luck next year with your courgettes.

    The only thing I've bought for wine making is the airlock ... got a few demijohns from freecycle (they seem to be regularly advertised) and saved empty bottles. Otherwise I've used whatever is around e.g. potato masher to squash soft fruit etc., (as only making small quantities just in case I don't like the taste or they're not successful). So if you fancy having a go it doesn't have to be expensive. I've stuck to simple recipes that I know (hope) I can cope with.

    I would recommend the elderflower cordial - you can mix it with water (still or fizzy), I've also tried it with white wine and vodka
