  • Just bought a mini greenhouse and av ?

Hi, I have just bought a 4 tier mini greenhouse and so excited .
Its from ebay with 24hr courier delivery and it was only 15.29 (had 10% voucher).
My conservatory is getting somewhat full now but i am limited to high shelves as my puppy has a habit of eating everything otherwise. Shame i have to go right past the GC today as i have no willpower at all .
What is the best way of fixing these things down as i have read about the blowing away in the wind problem ?

I hold mine down by tying each corner to separate bricks... and ensuring the greenhouse is in a sheltered spot (we get regular high winds) and tying the cover to the frame and ensuring the lower shelf is filled first - and with the heaviest items...

If we were in an exposed place I would run a rope over the roof from side to side and fix to stakes...

Best thing to do is put it up against a wall or fence, and tie it to that with hooks or eyes into the wall. Also, put a blob of silicone or something into the plastic pieces before you push the poles in, so that if it does get wobbled a bit, the whole thing doesn't fall to pieces.

Thanks for that, I have decided to put it against the fence and trellis in a corner. That way it should be ok. Just need to plant more trays up to help weigh it down !

          Definately tie it the wall.

Weighting mine down with bricks was no where near enough to stop it blowing over. I learnt the hard way after all my lovely newly planted seed trays ended up all over the inside of the greenhouse.
I've now got a couple of right angle brackets screwed to the wall with wire wrapped round the greenhouse.

Mine is anchored into the ground, plus up against wall. Used very strong long tent pegs, tied wire on rails etc then attached on pegs and anchored into ground plus heavy grow bags etc, no problems for me. some are now coming with guy ropes like tent ones and anchor points for attaching to walls etc.

              Cheers,
I have just put the greenhouse together and it will be going out later. It will be up against some trellis so that i can secure it to that, cant fix to floor as its on slabs but going to try everything else to make sure it stays put !.
Just can't wait to fill it up now.
