  • Raised bed polly tunnel type thingy

    Hi Folks

As you can see from the attached photo i have built this Raised bed polly tunnel type thingy
Its my 1st attempt at GYO so came up with this idea as my wife won't let me dig up the lawn
I am growing 2 brassicas now about 6" tall; 3 potato about 12" tall; about 20 onions about 8" tall ;50 Chanternay Carrots about 9" tall and the same Beetroot.
My question is at what stage should i remove the Lids or will they grow better leaving them on

    Any Advice is greatly appreciated
    Cheers
    John

I would take off the tunnels during the daylight am...and put them back on during the night ....depending how cold the nihgt time temoerature is where you are

      Hi John, that looks great

The veg you have growing can all cope with a light frost, except the potatoes. So you could start to acclimatise them to the outside, by taking off the covers during the day, and putting them back on at night for a week or so, then leave them off altogether. Just re-cover the potatoes if temperatures are going to be lower than 5c overnight.
