Got a frame, no glazing, and house full of toms & pepper plants!

Help please, I'm a newbie, just got my allotment - chickens at home ate all of last years veggies.
I've done well on the rasing of my tomatoes and peppers at home but they are taking over now. (Hubby not happy )
I've got a greenhouse frame down at the allotment and 2 levels of glass all round. I need to know what the best thing to do for the triangular bits, roof and door are? I don't have much cash & I've tried freecycle with no sucess as yet. I really want to get these plants down to the lottie but I don't know where to source glass or plastic & which is best to consider.

Ooh er, I am not sure, sounds like you have tried where I would have looked (freecycle)

Could you make a polythene top frame? as in like the ones that go over the plastic greenhouses? You can get giant polythene wrappers from bed shops that mattresses come in. The stores have display mattresses that they remove wrappers from. Maybe this would fit all the way over and you could secure some way?

I'd buy a piece of polytunnel polythene and some greenhouse tape.

Because you can buy it per metre, you can get a piece the size you need, then cut it up to fit.
Make sure that anything the tape is being stuck to has been thouroughly cleaned so that it sticks

Alternatively, check your yellow pages for glass suppliers, some can cut it to fit for you.

Thanks, I'll try that next - I've got a big plasic sheet from Wilkos so I'll try that - maybe not today as its still raining - itching to get on the plot!

I re glazed a 12x8 dutchlight greenhouse in poly carbonate this year. Cost me in total about £180 with silicone and glazing. Found the cheapest supplier on Ebay. If you search there are a couple on there. Just make sure you fix it in well!
