Mine looks the same as yours Two Sheds. After a couple of weeks outdoors it still gave good readings but the max - min panel was all misted over and unreadable / not recording.

Might put the request on a birthday list.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I bought one of these - quite a cheap digital, only £5.69. Have had no probs yet, but have only had it a couple of months.

I've found the most reliable max/min thermometer to be the spring type with the analogue dial and red and blue max/min markers. The last one I binned was still working but it was so old the plastic fascia had gone opaque.

I gave up with the liquid tube type after too many failures and not so sure the digital ones can cope with the humidity.

I held a lighter close to mine to get rid of air bubbles. might be wise to wear goggles just in case though!

Im always dropping mine, when they get bubbles i hold the button in and bang the side rapily for a few seconds at a time, while shaking the whole lot and it goes fine again the bubbles shake/bang out of it
