  • Tomato leaves turning yellow

I have 12 Shirley plants in the greenhouse, many of them have tomatoes on the second truss, but some of them have yellowing of the lower leaves. The ones that are yellowing are all in two bags. Do you think this could be magnesium deficiency and would it be worth spraying some epsom salts on them?

They will usually drop their older leaves in favour of the newer ones. Unless the top ones are yellowing, I'd just take the lower ones off.

The yellowing is starting to appear higher up i.e 3/4 of the way up. Gave them a good misting with some epsom salts and will see how they go.

Make sure they get plenty of water as well during this hot spell, but not on the leaves.

Will do! Some shading would go down well too I guess. Ordered some online but it's currently out of stock.

The old fella next door has had a sprinkler on all morning and just turned it off. All of my potatoes are soaking wet in the scorching sun. Think I need to have words!
