  • greenhouse shading to reduce temp - effective on inside?

    Hey there,

I was wondering about people's opinions on the effectiveness of applying shade netting on the inside of the greenhouse to reduce the temperature.

I've read mixed views, including those that shade netting on the inside, while reducing scorching, will do nothing to reduce the temperature itself - and that the shading needs to be on the outside to do so.

The greenhouse is 8x8 well ventilated, ridge running E-W with 3 roof vents, louve and door open, with te temp running up to 30 to 39 degrees on sunny days (so far, I can only think this will increase)

It's used to grow indoor cucumbers, melons, watermelons on staging on the North facing side and up the roof, and sweet pepers, chilli and egg plants on the foor on the south side.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Douglas
