You may STILL be able to pick up plants fron GC's or boot sales if you're lucky though!

You can always try of course. Not much to lose apart from some seeds and compost.

Doesn't blight only hit some years TS? I have had toms ripening in November and December with no troubles in years past.

Jimfin, I have grown tomatoes from seed as late as this before when I come back from holidays.
You will get tomatoes but they will be late in the season.
If you have a selection of seeds go for the cherry variety as you may get more fruit from this variety.

.....Or you could just try and buy a few plants!!!!! Anyone with any left at this time of year will probably give you them anyway!

Doesn't blight only hit some years TS? I have had toms ripening in November and December with no troubles in years past.

I too have had fruit much later than August. October at least. Blight isn't compulsory after all.

If you give it a whirl and then stop each plant at 2 trusses, you'll force the plant to grow and ripen the fruits that are already set rather than making more. It gives you a reduced crop, but - it's a crop eh?
