  • bugs on pepper/chilli plants

    Hi

After wanting a veg garden for the past few years my partner has built me some raised beds and erected a greenhouse. now the past few days my chilli and pepper plants seem to be infested with a selection of bugs & some of the leaves seem to be covered in a black sticky substance. they dont seem to be suffering in any way but to control the bugs i have been sponging the bugs off with a light solution of washing up liquid and water. would this be the right thing to do please. any advice greatly appreciated as i am fairly new with all this. thanks.

They will start to suffer, continue as you are doing, although most people spray with what you are sponging.

And either next year or this, go and get some french marigolds, they work really well at keeping the whitefly in greenhouses away and attracting good insects, that eat the bad ones.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Malus, i put one marigold plant in each pot with the toms and peppers and it always works.
