We go away for weekends a lot. Whats the best way to keep things watered in the GH.
I usualy water 1st thing in the morn and last at night. At this time of year would I be better to just leave most things outside. Or could I leave seed trays in a tray of water. What about my toms

You could look at getting a drip irrigation kit.
there are loads on the market would be a good investment if you go away regularly.

We get a house sitter (my mum or sister) if we go away for more than a night... saves worrying about things!

I tried that but my two kids are rubbish If you know a factory that uses battery fork lifts they will have 5 gallon containers that they have distilled water in - these are great reservoirs for drip irrigation and HDRA used to sell a tap that you could fit to plastic bottles you pierced the bottle and pushed them in. I used to use them on my old lottie and you can mix feed into them as well kill two plants with one stone

For a the odd weekend you would get away with regularly available plastic trays. These hold about 4 seed trays and will take about a gallon of water. For longer periods a dripper system or mains/timer set up would be more appropriate. I use a combination of both - the shallow trays are filled with Hortag which retains water and improves humidity.
