  • Door seals - Help please

    Hello all

I am needing some help please.

I was recently given a greenhouse & after a lovely day cleaning it in the sunshine I see I will need to replace a strip of rubber that forms the door seal..

(I have photographed, the seal,it but not sure how to add to this mail)

It is a ridgid plastic slot shape with a more flexible rubber flange attatched to side edge, this slides over a 1 cm aluminium slot on greenhouse frame. The rubber forming a seal between sliding greenhouse door & frame.

My greenhouse is very old (but still perfectly useable) so I do not think I could contact the manufacturer's who were Crittall Witham Essex

Any suggestions how i can seal door ?

You could try telephoning/emailing one of the other suppliers of greenhouses.
I have found Halls very helpful in the past. They can be contacted through sales@onlinegardeningcentre.co.uk or telephone 01507 478191.
If you explain your problem they may be able to advise you.
Other than that, what about somewhere like Wyevales (or larger gardens centres) where they stock greenhouses, or do a search online for greenhouse door seals and see what comes up.
The only other thing is domestic draft excluder. I use something similar to what you describe around my doors but they are not flanged, just self adhesive. I don't think it would last very long in the extremes of temperature though.
Sorry I can't be more helpful but I expect another grape will have more info
