  • Use of concrete floor sealer

I have had a 6x8 greenhouse for a long while.
It was set on a substantial concrete base ( specially layed to size ).
Unfortunatly it collects puddles, it must not be quite flat and have a run off.
I was considering trying some garage floor sealer paint, possibly epoxy based.
Any one had any experience with this.

    Hi Jimmy,

If it's not flat or has dips in it this won't cure it and could make matters worse by holding on to the moisture. This isn't a problem in the height of summer (or did you miss that day) but in the winter it will give you a damp atmosphere - great for moulds and Botrytis to form.

My small house has a concrete floor apart from one bed and this helps absorb any stray moisture. The big house just has slabs in the middle for a path.

I assume you don't want to cut out the base so I would be tempted to drill some large holes (say 18mm) where the water lies and then fill this with sharp sand or aquarium gravel this will let any water to drain off
