  • Bit overexcited!

The MIL says we can use her greenhouse I am beside myself with excitement. Never had an actual greenhouse to grow in before. Perhaps I will be able to grow chillis and peppers at last I have wanted a green house for years, ever since I started growing alongside my uncle many years ago. Pointless post really but I just wanted to share!

Really pleased for you, I've only had my greenhouse a couple of weeks and I've still got a big grin on my face.

It sounds like we've kicked her out! We haven't, she just uses her house to raise young plants to sell them to raise funds for her chapel then after May/June, the greenhouse has 1000's of empty plant pots and stacks of wood in them. what a waste! We've been struggling like mad to grow outdoor toms - we have some this year on our small patio after loosing our allotment ones to blight so this is a real boon.

It's definitely not a pointless post, I remember my first greenhouse (I still have it!) I was so excited. It was a graduation present, but I graduated aged 33 so I'd waited a fair few years for it, and I'd wanted one since I was 10 and started to help my Granddad in his. Everyone else in the family had received what, to my mind, were completely useless graduation presents, posh watches, Mont Blanc fountain pens and the like, so instead of getting a load of stuff like that I asked the family to pool their resources and buy me a greenhouse. It's why I ended up with one which was far posher than I could ever have afforded and probably explains why it's still going strong 17 years later. I still love to spend time in it and I've never lost the delight in being in there when the rain is pounding on the roof and I'm snug, dry and still gardening inside. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

But you've given your age away now

A school friend of my daughter had a greenhouse for a christmas pressie as he was in to Orchids and he'd filled his bedroom!! Still it wasn't a waste as he's in charge of the orchids at the botanic gardens in Singapore now !!!

Enjoy LB I spend hours in mine just standing and looking and you get a great tan
