Greenhouse Heating - What do you suggest

I am going to try making hot beds in mine this year but am looking for more information and for anyone who has had personal experiences of using them.

This is my first year too with a greenhouse. My garden is too small for a greenhouse and kids. So my sil has built me a purpose built wooden haven against a garage wall. The wall is in full sun (if there is any) and acts as a night store heater. Will be interesting to compare inside and outside temps this winter.

Plastic milk containers painted black and filled with water interspersed between the plants helps and (as Bilbo Waggins says) provides a quick source for emergency watering! You could put some clear ones around the edge as a buffer against heat loss in very cold spells.

My OH filled part of the GH with limestone gravel which was then covered by patio slabs. He calls it our economy 7 heating system as it seems to absorb heat during the day and release it during the night. It's always noticeably warmer in there than outside despite it having a few draughts.
It also has the benefit of making the floor easy to clean

I have heard that small T-Light candles will keep it above freezing. I am going to try it this year just out of interest.
