  • Greenhouse...need help!

    Hello,

Im not sure if Ive commented on the right category but Im new so here goes...

Im buying my Mum a greenhouse for Christmas and just need some general advice.

Shes not a hardcore grower, just general stuff like tomatoes etc.

Just a few questions...Is it best to get polycarbonate or glass? Any idea of approx size? We've got quite a large flat garden covered in grass. Do I need to put anything down on the grass before the GH is assembled or is it ok to just go straight onto the grass and add slabs through the middle?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks Bella

Get as big as you can afford, they always fill up. You will need to attach it to the ground somehow or it will blow round the garden, esp if polycarbonate.

If you have a scroll through the older posts, there are lots of recommendations and discussions. Or SEARCH for GREENHOUSE

At least 6' x 8'. Fine on ground with paving up the middle. I got polycarb cos I was worried about damage from vandals and grandchildren, but basically it's up to you. Glass gives better light transmission.
