I wish you'd keep your smart ideas to yourself though - you'll be putting me out of business!

Wow! Those cages look fab!!! I had given to me 3 of those cheap gazebos a couple of years ago and they've been stuck in the shed all this time doing nothing - just my old man moaning about them cluttering up the place, then just as they were on their way to the recycling centre I thought about cages! I used those noodle things that kids use for swimming, great big long foamy things. I chopped them up and used them as the 'balls' and then pushed the poles into them. They worked a treat!! Although I made the mistake of creating a huge square type cage which was a nightmare to weed in the middle of. I'll certainly do long narrow cages from now on! So now I've robbed the kids of their swimming aids, looks like the tennis balls are mine now aswell!

Just wondered...........are the pipes just a push fit into the tennis balls or is glue used as the pipe is quite flexible? Would a small cross, cut with a Stanley knife be enough to allow the pipe to be pushed into it?
Got the pipes..........just need the balls now!

That could work Snadge, I don't trust myself with a stanley knife. The pipe is 20mm so just drilled 16mm holes & they pushed on fine. We had good winds & rain last night & the netted one didn't budge so thats good. I may have to keep my eye on the middle one near the wall as it is slightly longer & may need centre support at some time, just another couple of balls & some more pipe in the middle. Otherwise I'm fairly confident that they wil be ok.
