Not a bad price, Chris, many thanks. Time to start saving the pennies It has to easier and less painful than laying slabs - surely?

Yeah, the chap said it's simple to lay, I was thinking it's a resonable cost so may as well try it, if it doesn't go as planned I can always use it for a shed later on anyway.

It's loads simpler than laying a (proper) foundation.. we built a solid concrete base for one of my old mans sheds, laying hardcore down, after digging down into the ground, making sure it was level and then laying the concrete on and patting it down with a beam - man ! Hard work, took two days.. Ok, it's not slabs, but still you need a proper foundation to do things correctly as knowing my luck I'd whack a few slabs down on a quick foundation and it'd start sinking or something

Will update the thread with any progress I make (I first, have to level off a sloped lawn for the GH to sit on ).

Looks good, but how do you secure the greenhouse down?

Poly, I read somewhere you use special ties to secure the greenhouse or shed to the base.

Yes,theres ties to secure the GH to the base, or the GH base, I guess to the base, then the GH to the base that's secured to the base

I'm wondering if there is enough weight to hold it down in a strong gale?

I am geting a new greenhouse this year and am going to put it on a wooden decking. It just seems the easiest option as it is an awful lot of hard work to get building materials into the back garden. And I enjoy woodworking next to growing vegetables. It is in a very sheltered corner of the garden so not expecting strong winds to be a problem.

I was wondering this. If you stuck big enough pins in to hold the base down it should be ok. Also I can't believe you could get this level enough to fit a glass greenhouse, a plastic glazed one yes, but a glass one?

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
