Size of gas bottle for 2kw propane heater

Hi there,

I was wondering what recommendations people had for the size of propane gas bottle for a 2kw heater - it's to be ordered separately. The greenhouse is 8.5 x 8.5 and the heater use is for frost protection of plants in the late March, April, early May period. I don't imagine (currently anyway) that it would be used outside this period or for a hot greenhouse at any point.

Do people go all the way up to the 19kg bottles:

what ever size you decide on get a auto change over valve and another bottle cos sods law says it will run out in the middle of the night.

I looked at these some time ago and I was going to get the normal size that used to fit in the old supersers (32lb?) but definitely get two bottles and the auto change over valve

If you are only using your heater for frost protection from late March onwards one bottle should do. The bigger the bottle you buy the cheaper the gas. I get big 47 kilo bottles delivered to my allotment for £36. I think these are too big for a passing thief to run off with.
