  • Can anyone recommend a good GH book?

    Hi

I am saving up for a greenhouse for my veggies. Meanwhile, I would like to learn as much about greenhouse gardening as possible.

Is there a "bible" that contains everything I would need to know?

Hi WS, this link may be of use but if you search the vine, there is loads of info on greenhouse gardening.

Hi Sindy, what veggies do you intend to grow in your greenhouse?
      tomatoes, chillies, aubergines, cucumbers?

The Greenhouse Gardener: Amazon.co.uk: Anne Swithinbank, John Swithinbank: Books

I've got this book, which is very good, but it does cover all greenhouse growing, not just veggies.

          Thank you!

I have just ordered the Anne Swithinbank book from ebay for £11.99. (Price included free lettuce and basil seeds and free shipping!)

Bigmallly - that site looks great. Have added it to favourites. I will, off course, be picking your brains too! I thought a book would be good for reading in bed where I don't have a computer.

Hi Two Sheds - I am hoping to grow tomatoes, chillis, bell peppers and cucumbers. Had loads of tomatoes outdoors last summer in pots and hanging baskets. They all got blight hence I want a greenhouse this year

Thanks for the advice. The Anne Swithinbank book is beautiful, but I think I will go for the Hessayon one too as it is very practical. Also comes with free seeds on ebay. I am easily influenced by free seeds!

Inspired by the book and this forum, I have ordered a greenhouse this week!
