  • Was about to buy a 6x8, but....

The green house people have a 6x10 for the same price !

    Argh !!

Now I need to measure where I'm planning on having it.. I think I've enough room, but I don't want the greenhouse to dominate the location! Ticks all the boxes, toughened glass, auto vents (x2), lourve, height of it is 6'7" - which is fine, as I can dig down a foot to lay it on there, so it doesn't go over the fence that I'm having done.

    ho hum !

And I've seen so many people here say they wish they'd have gotten larger, and 2' extra, for nowt.. I think I'd be daft to not take it, I could always position it differently.

"You can buy with us in the confidence that all purchases are covered by our Six Guarantees: You can amend or even cancel your order at any time within 14 days."

Just read that on their site. Bugger it, I'm ordering it!

    Mrs won't be happy

My greenhouse was from the greenhouse people and they are fab, def the bigger the better, i could only fit a 6x6 and could easily fill double that. you should get the bigger one, you will not regret it

I got my 6' x 10' Black Simplicity Stramshall delivered yesterday from the Greenhouse People.

They have been very helpful and friendly throughout. I am a complete greenhouse newbie and they were very patient with me!

I got mine from their sister website. Have a look to double check the spec and price is the same as the main site. It is the same company.

        Good luck!

Hmm, that's a bit larger than the Halls one.. to bring it up to the same spec is around 30 notes cheaper. Could be an option, cheers... Still haven't pressed the buy button yet!

Yep, I got one of them too. It's lying on my shed floor in about 30 boxes

Exciting stuff eh? I ordered a 6x10 simplicity shugborough with the greenhouse people and its hopefully arriving next week. Cant wait - first ever greenhouse for me!

I ordered this one cos its got high eaves - better for the taller gardener (and their tomatoes).

Just one problem. I have a 6x10 shed on a concrete plinth that I am taking down to make space for the greenhouse. Although, re-reading the information, I now see that its actually a couple of inches bigger than the nominal size. So its going to overhang the plinth a bit each way! Bugger.

They are very helpful on the phone. I phoned to query the number of roof vents and the guy updated the website to 3 vents before my eyes!

Hate to tell you, but when I got mine at the end on January there was a £75 discount code on the onlinegreenhouses site. It was not on the greenhouse people site (despite it being the same company). I think it continued into the first week in February. If you are good at haggling, you could ask for a reduction as you have just missed the discount code.

I'm househunting currently... one of the must-haves is a garden big enough to drop a 20-foot Elite Classique into.... it's about as big a greenhouse as you can get before the price gets stupid....20 foot by 12...... I'm not fussed if it dominates the garden......

I think I just managed to squeeze into the net - I got the £75 discount with the greenhouse people but then when I looked back at the website the next day it had gone. Lucky! But it helped offset the extra cost of the toughened glass, which pretty much made my decision for me.

I just called them - apparantly the Simplicity Stramshall is better quality than the Halls Popular.

It's aluminium, so not green - that doesn't really matter to me so prob go for that!

i would also make sure i get the one with the extra height, toughened glass in large panes and glazing bars. makes it easier to put together and the extra height gives more head room for you and more height for the plants

7'8" is a bit too tall, it'd be nice, but I don't want people seeing the greenhouse (it's going in a side garden, that people have chucked beer bottles in when leaving the local pub... So that's one reason for the fence, the other is to protect our daughter, and also enclose the area so I can grow fruit there.

I have a fabulous Halls 6x8 greenhouse purchased from the Greenhouse People last year. They were absolutely brilliant. My advice is to haggle but always remember anyone selling greenhouses is having the most succesful period for the last 40 years. The economic crisis has sent the world into a greenhouse. If you think thats bad, try getting a wood burner fitted before Christmas - impossible. The world's gone eco mad!
