Glass Polycarb or acrylic?

I am soon to own a greenhouse, as I have to dismatle and move it I can see some of the glass panels smashing as I know older glass is very brittle.

Has anyone got any advice on what material to replace the broken panels with?

The greenhouse will be on show in my back garden, no kids just a mad border collie to worry about.

My research so far has come up with:
1st Acrylic - as clear as glass but stronger and will not yellow
2nd Ploycard - not as clear (see through) although is twin or tri walled so possibly warmer althogh can someone tell me dont you end up with all dirt inbetween the walls?
3rd Glass - Is glass need I say more

Norfolk also do that plastic roll stuff.. which has crossed my mind lately. Why am I spending over £600 on a GH when I could achive the same thing for a third of the cost.

With polycarb, you can seal the ends with sealant or greenhouse tape. My greenhouse has polycarb on the sides/top then acrylic on the doors so you can see in.

Thanks for the advice, will see how the building of the base goes tomorrow hopefully will have the structure up soon and can then make a decision depending on how many panels are left whole.

I'm getting a greenhouse soon and am going for polycarb.

For two reasons. Safety as I'll have a 2 year old boy running around and playing in the garden next to it and the other reason is the benefit of light diffusion that ploycarb apparently brings. As light is diffused scorching should be less of a problem in high summer (assuming we get a 'high summer'........)
