  • Advice on Super 7 please?

    Please help, other veg growers...

I have just purchased a Super 7 Propagator.
Unfortunately, it arrived with no instructions.

Now I know it`s not rocket science but i just wondered how often i will need to be watering?
    Should I top up frequently?
I am going to start my chilies now and then use it to start my toms

Welcome to Vine. There is a great store of info and advice here and everyone is very friendly if also a little mad.

Initially you probably won't need to water much, due to condensation etc. After that be guided by the condition of the compost and the other environmental factors e.g. how warm your house/window sill is.

The instructions I had suggested filling the trays and allowing the compost to warm overnight before planting so you are not sowing into cold compost if it has been stored outside.

Congrats on your purchase. I love mine. Purely in a platonic sense of course.

              Hi DC,

Welcome to the VIne. Earthbabe is spot on the only thing I'd add is when you've filled it & Lightly firmed the compost, stand the tray in a dish of water & you will see the surface goes darker eventually, this means it has taken all th eater it will need so you can stand it on the prop over night.

Also only use tap water as there may be pathogens in your water butt that will cause damping off of the seedlings.
