  • Cold Snap -- What should i move indoors?

First up i've only had my greenhouse up for a few weeks, can't believe it took me so long to get one as it's given me an entire new option for growing things. Definately the best thing i have spent my money on in a long while.
Added bonus is my 5 year old son has taken a real shine to it as well (to the extent that we are fighting over shelf space )

Looks like the weather is about to get colder. I've got a lot of plants in my un-heated greenhouse which have all been happily growing for the last 2 weeks.Minimum temperature has been about 3 degrees.
Looks like Sunday/Monday minimum temperatures may go down to 1 degree.

Out of the list below is there anything i should definately move inside

    Toms
    Chilli
    Aubergine
    Squash/Pumpkin
    Courgette
    Sunflower
    Delicate Fuschia
    Cucumber
    French Beans
    Sweetcorn

    Many thanks

How much space do you have inside? Might be a better option to cover them with a bit of fleece at night - that would give a little bit extra protection

it's not so much as indoor space but "her indoors" that is the issue with bringing plants inside

thanks, i'll bring in what i can and cover the rest up, might even see if i can borrow a paraffin heater for a couple of days

I'd move all of those. However, I AM 'her indoors'!

I 'd move all of them, same as Flum, my "er indoors" doesn't mind at all.

Seriously think of getting another wife

I bring in my toms, chilli, Aubergine and cucs in to the kitchen every night and Mr in Pots thought when I had my greenhouse it was the end of sharing the kitchen with plants.

Ahh my wife thought exactly the same! She was a bit disappointed.

With my excess tomatoes and chillies I am leaving in the GH, have done for last weekish, will fleece if going to be really cold, doesn't matter if loose them, but thought I'd give it a try, and if they grow well, will save the seeds. Cucumbers and aubergines are taken in with my real tomato stock every night still.

As I have absolutely no space left indoors the toms, aubergines and chillies will have to stay in my mini ghs. Each gh does have it's own fleece covering but I will also cover the plants inside with another layer of fleece and/or bubblewrap and keep my fingers crossed they will be okay Cucs, melons and courgettes are still indoors on my windowsills.

Thing is every time I re-pot there's more trays to carry in each night and I'm running out of space in the kitchen, so I might have to be brave and leave some behind in the greenhouse.

Same here, no idea why I sowed so many flaming tomatoes anyway!

I've three toms that are too tall for window sills and three peppers I ran out of space for after repotting. I think they'll be fine.
