I'm just about to start building a tunnel with a tent shaped metal frame of 12 x 12 x 8ft high. I'm in a position where I can easily tape the top section while it is not connected to the legs and at an easy (waist high) height to work at during the beggining of the construction. The question is it'll probably take me around a week to finish the wooden frames for the ends before I can start thinking about waiting for a day to put the cover on. Would the anti hot spot tape weather the rain, wind and sun and still be OK after this week or longer?

Hello King Carrot,
The anti hot spot tape will stand a "bit" of weather but if it's forecast wind and rain (and I think it is in Co Kerry) you would be safer waiting until your ready to put the sheet on before you stick the tape on the hoops.
If the steel is oily, wipe it down with white spirit or thinners before you put the tape on to make sure it sticks properly.Stuart (Robinson Polytunnels)

Just to add my agreement to Robinson Polytunnels post. The tape doesn't take very long to put on so would be better added on the day you stretch the polythene over IMHO.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
