  • Video, building my polytunnel

Well spurred on by Twoshed's great video of her allotment, I thought I would add a few clips together of building my polytunnel.

I have uploaded it to my blog and here is the link.

not bad at all! lots of hard work going into building it though! I suspect that the plastic would not last that long around here though as I have 5 cats and there are many more around where I. live I feel sure my lot would scratch it to death b4 long. We also have a load of birds that nest in a tree in a neighbours garden just over the back to me I bet they would make a right mess of it! I often have to wash birds mess off my greeenhouse glass.

Actually the plastic you can buy for polytunnels is very strong and will last quite a number of years. I even strim against mine and it holds up to my strimmer cord!
I really enjoyed building it though, maybe thats a man thing.

Brilliant video and very envious of your polytunnel, I wish I was more handy at building things!

Greengas, I couldn't even cut a bit of wood straight a few years ago before coming to France.
But if needs must, it's amazing what you can do. I even fitted a woodburner and flue last winter with the help of the internet of course!
As for the polytunnel, it was a lot of trial and error, working with the size of wood that I could buy locallly, then drawing up a rough plan.
The nice thing about wood is that you can easily shape and cut extra bits for support, if it needs it.
Looking at your blog I know you are well capable of doing it, if you put your mind to it.
