  • Biggest chilli?

I have a load of hot chilli's ripening but two of them look suspiciously like sweet peppers.
I bought a mix of named varieties of chilli pepper seeds.........but I'm beginning to wonder whether these particular two are sweet peppers?

So my question is:- Are there any hot chilli's that are about 2 inches diameter, 9 inches long and pointed at end?

Don't think so Snadgar, but I'm sure someone will know one way or the other.
Did you think of looking up the chili website, can't think of the name but its the one that used to run the largest chill competition.
Sorry i can't be more helpful.

        Hi Snadger,
Could they be poblano chillies? they go that sort of size and can hold a bit of heat.

After trolling the net I've found them. Anaheim.........large but quite mild!

Just scroll down to 'A'........... well done T8Ter, Poblanos are similar but hotter apparently!

Try tasting one then you'll know

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

You get a lot of bite for your buck with these monsters! If they are to my taste (and i'd rather try them when ripened) they will be on next years chilli seed list for certain!

That's a bit big for an Anaheim (could be though), one other that leaps to mind is Numex Big Jim, similarly mild and used for stuffing ....

Cubanelle is quite similar to Anaheim and similarly sweet.
