ok this may seem a silly question but..ive been given a greenhouse parafin heater its a t shaped one ..the question is how do u turn it off once its lite ? do you just wind the wick down till it goes out? also how much wick do you wind up to last the night ...as i said may sound silly but there were no instructions and its only easy when you know the answers thanks mick

Yes wind it down to extinguish, you wind the wick up so it has a blue flame, if you leave it burning with a yellow flame you will get up in the morning to a black greenhouse with all the inside covered in soot, ( BEEN THERE DONE THAT)

Parafin heaters create a wet heat so it is important to try and create some ventilation as well as heating the greenhouse. A balance between the two. Parafin has also got expensive so shop around cheapest I could get it last year was £5.50 but some places it was £8.00.
