  • Need a fast grower to cover a large shed

I don't know if this is the right place for this thread but no doubt someone will put me right if not. Can anyone suggest a fast growing plant to cover a 40foot container which is used as a tool store? Preferably evergreen, but not essential. Mustn't be poisonous (so no ivy) as sheep and cattle graze round it. Russian vine has been suggested, and honeysuckle. Anything else?

Boston Ivy, beautiful autumn colouring, but not as rampant as Russian Vine and others, Clematis, Rambling/Climbing Roses, Grapevine?

      Or all of the above!

How about a climbing hydrangea? You can also get some evergreen ones

Think the ideas already given are good. I could maybe add golden hop, not evergreen and you do need to cut down the dead growth come Spring but maybe a combination of this and 1 of the other suggestions?

A hardy kiwi vine? They grow really quick, have nioce foliage and the added benefit of fruit if you go for a self fertile variety.

Thanks everyone, would love the flowering climbers, hop and kiwi but it's in a field of cows and sheep and I'm afraid they wouldn't last long. (Bindweed seems a great option P. There's plenty of that in the lottie and cheap too!) Will try a mix of all your suggestions and see what works best. Plenty of room for trials with 40' each side.
