  • plastic greenhouse cover light penetration

    Hi there,
I have a patio green house, reasonable quality, with a plastic cover that has green "thread" woven through it for strength.
Now Im looking at buying 2m x 3m plastic greenhouse, and it looks like they come with similar covers

It seems to me that there is so much of the green thread, it must cut down on the light coming through
So my question is, does anyone think this could be a significant problem when growing stuff like aubergines, peppers, tomatoes etc?

    Thanks

We have one of the walk in plastic greenhouses on our plot (well we did until the autumn gales semi-killed it - it's waiting until spring to be rebuilt and repaired). It has the green mesh stuff and we grew tomatoes, sweet peppers and chillies in it. They all did fine in there and it was pretty hot on sunny days so I don't think light would be an issue. Wind and ventilation can be though.

no problem at all. I use green debris netting over plants - they still grow well
