  • My Rolls Royce of polytunnels.

For my 65th birthday I treated myself to a polytunnel!

It is from First Tunnels who advertise on this site.

btw, I meant to ask you before - do you cement your paving slabs in, or are they just laid on level ground with some sort of (stabilising) fabric?

Just laid on levelled soil. I walk around with a sprayer once a week and spray anything green with glyphosate. Small weeds means tiny amounts of chemical.

That looks great! Your prize winning allotment was already brilliant. Now I'm really jealous

I bought my tunnel from First in 2003 and although the cover is now on borrowed time, I would have no hesitation in giving their product the best of references. I also bought mine with side rails and the ventilation kit, but later fitted mine with opening lights made with timber and polythene as it gets pretty cold up here at night for most of the year. I made the mistake of buying only a single door for my 25ft tunnel but later made and fitted one at the other end. Much better for access and importantly for ventilation.

Of course wheely bins to collect rainwater what a great idea.

Oh and congratulations on both your tunnel and birthday.

I think Robinson Polytunnels is implying that you (aberdeenplotter) are indeed posting as First Tunnels.

Maybe your praise of First Tunnels went over the top.
