Orange insects

I was checking out the opening leaves on my polytunnel pear trees today and noticed some teeny weeny orange insects in the buds.
Any idea what they were?

I sprayed them and they disappeared but I can't find anything about them on the net.

Lol. No. I squirted them all away but they're teeny anyway and I think my camera would struggle to pick them up.

Aye I have a digital SLR but I think the macro mode would still struggle to pick these things up - I'm going to give it a go though.

However I fear you may be spot on with the Red spider mite.
The infected pears came in yesterday from another gardener and I should have checked them over before bringing them anywhere near my plants, but I didn't.

If it is RSM I am hoping it's a minor infestation and praying that my PT conditions may not be quite so attractive to them as the conservatory they came from. I shall try various methods of extermination but will have to get Phytoseiulus and do it that way.
