  • Well, finally got around to it! My BigMally moment!

A while ago I asked what staging you lot used - after having a bit of scrap timber left over from creating some shuttering for a concrete base we've just put in, I checked the thread again, and set about using it to create some staging.

I had enough to create a 5' x 22" bench, but no timber for the slats - so I'll have to pick some up tomorrow to finish that off. At the moment I'm just resting some gravel boards over it so they're out of the way.

I also have recently taken down some fitted wardrobes - using two of the shelves from them (only chipboard mind, so won't last long) I thought I'd make a potting tray, as I always make such a mess when I'm potting up etc. If it lasts a year, it'll have saved me £20 odd, plus it fits just right I'll set about making another one in a year if need be, or whenever it rots down to a non-useable state.

So, cheers for the heads up BM/others - I enjoyed making them. bit rough and ready, but nobody bar my self will use them - and for once in my life I think I can take pride in being so uneven and rough

Oh yes, you'll have to excuse the mess - the garden is a building site at the moment, so chickens have been relegated to the greenhouse to keep them out of the way for the time being. I didn't expect them to tip over sacks of compost, dig out the pea gravel, or move slabs.
