New greenhouse

hi all,

have a new greenhouse which is all nicely built and put on the patio at the top of the garden. With the weight of the glass it feels very sturdy, however I would still like to screw it to the slabs. Which screws/bolts would be best for this?

I don't know what you call them but you can get rawl plug type thingies which you place in a hole drilled in your slab. You then place the hole in the base of your greenhouse on top and hammer a screw straight into the rawl plug thingie and then tighten up with a screwdriver. Someone will know what they are called.

Steve, Mr Pots says they're called either hammer or frame fixings.

Frame fixings, made to fit doors & windows come in various sizes both lenght and diameter.

For the best selection of all types of fastings go to Screwfix.com - Power Tools, Electrical, Plumbing Supplies & more they do just about every type of fixing on the planet and mail order is available.

However if you are fasting down to concrete slabs be aware that if you use a fixing with lots of expansion you have a good chance of cracking the slab rendering your work useless.

Personally I would look at resin fixings, this type of fixing applies no expansion force yet still provides a quality firm fix.
