I am getting a real greenhouse tomorrow for my birthday, I am so excited the lady in the shop thought I was mad. I say a real greenhouse because I had a plastic one that blew away, this one will stay put.

    Roll on tomorrow.

Congratulations. Make sure you bolt it down well or it will go the same way as the plastic one!
    Happy Gardening,

Yes, congratulations Chilligirl. You see, there was a reason your plastic greenhouse blew away.... Happy Birthday!

Thankyou everyone for the birthday wishes, its like getting cards via the phone line.

            I'VE GOT IT !!!!!!!!!

            Hurrah

Just have to wait for hubby to put it up. Hopefully during the week as we are both on hols from work. I would ask him to do it today, but he's decorating the spare room (bless him), so he's a bit busy. Good things come to those who wait.

Great idea. I bought myself an 8x6 "proper" greenhouse last month for my birthday - well nobody else was goingt to. Had problems with plastic ones tearing and blowing away so dug a slight pit for this one to keep below fence level and also had it professionally built for £120. So far so good. Is currently full of seedlings and empty growbags and is a nioce place to stand feeling pleased with myself when its sunny.

Hope u have as much fun with yours as I have so far

                  IT'S UP !!!!!!!!

                  My hubby is an angel.

Only the frame though we are glazing it tomorrow, that should be fun. Then I will have room for all of my babies. I can't wait.

Happy birthday and well done you!! I got my greenhouse for Christmas/Birthday and it isn't up yet (OH has promised to do it when he is home at Easter)

Enjoy it to its fullest. What are you planning to grow in it?

Happy Birthday CG and great to hear you got the greenhouse frame up. Got mine at the end of last summer, so really just enjoying it this spring. Sat in and had my afternoon coffee today - well squeezed between all the seedlings that seem to be everywhere!

                        I am going to grow:

Chillies, Toms (trailing and bush), cucumber, lettuce, raddish, sweede, carrot, parsnips, water mellon, sweetcorn, pumpkin, cabbage, spring onions, runnerbeans, beetroot, lots of bedding plants too numerous to list. I have started all seeds allready on windowsill and upstairs in my garage, but will move most of them into their new home when it is finished (hopefully tomorrow), it won't be too cold will it?

I think thats it if I remember any more I will add to the list.

I think I'm going to be busy but very healthy with all the exercise and fresh produce I will be consuming. I am really looking forward to doing this I have never grown this much before, all I have grown before are toms.

Will keep you all informed and no doubt have lots of questions to ask you knowledgable grapes.

Hello Chilliegirl, it will still be too cold for your toms, chilies, cukes, melons and corn in the greenhouse unless you are heating it - everything else should be OK. If you haven't already done it, can I suggest you get a max - min thermomoter for in there, that way you can see what the temperatures are doing; and some fleece for covering plants up at night. Weather looks like good spell ahead - so enjoy.

Come on now Chillie Girl, be honest.. how often have you looked through the curtains of an evening just to see if it's still there..??

(I'm up to about twice a night, and i only got mine in Feb.)

Me too, first thing I look at in the morning! Also like when you decorate and go outside the first dark night to see what it looks like from outside (or is it just me that does that ?)
