  • Mini-polytunnel during summer?

I have two "portable plant protectors" - mini-polytunnels that fit over the raised beds - which did a sterling job over the winter!

I'm wondering what I might be able to do with them in the summer - they are 1.2m x 2.4m and about 2m high... I can't dismantle them, so need to find a use

I was thinking about putting my extra (spare) chilli and aubergine plants in them - in Morrisons buckets - to see if they deliver anything? My challenge is that I can only water at weekends, so teh major risk is that they cook rather than grow!!

    Any thoughts / suggestions?
    thanks

How mini are they and do you have ventilation? I think it will get too hot. Mine are 5ftx4ft and even now its boiling under there in afternoon!

I think thru the hottest part of summer they just need to be stashed away. But either side they could be used as you suggest to bring on chillis and aubergines a bit.
