Wait until you loose out to somebody that is using a sniper.

The way they work theoretically is : you choose your maximum bid and get a sniper to do the bidding. I use Auction Stealer which is a free piece of software you can download. It will put your bid in 10 seconds before end of auction. If you want it in 3 or 4 seconds before end it will cost you for the priviledge, but I am quite happy with 10 seconds!

By doing this you are not in a bidding war boosting the price up as you would be if you lodged a maximum bid with eBay!
It still all depends on your maximum bid, but at 10 seconds, anyone bidding in small increments will not have time to up there bid!
And no, it's not cheating, there are no friends in an eBay auction!

Do you have a cheap sales bit in your local paper? We have one on a Wednesday and there were two sheds and two greenhouses this week. Good luck with ebay - I got mine (after looking for ages) and got it for £20! Including staging. I gave the lady a bottle of wine as well. Bernie aka Dexterdog PS let us know how you get on on ebay!

Not much really comes up on ebay in my area (well things i want anyway),
so maybe this is fate.... Or maybe not.

I agree, it is quite good fun if you get into a last minute bidding war on inexpensive items. But when each bid is costing a fiver a shot per bid, for more expensive items I would rather win the item cheaply and forgo the 'Fun of the chase'

PS So if an item finishes at 3.00am in the morning, you stop up til six seconds before to put a 70p bid on Lesley???
Where as I get up in the morning, check the result and realise my 65p bid was outbid and say " Ah well at least I didn't stop up half the night, plenty more fish in the sea!!!"
