You pay a much lower rate on it than standard charges as you pay only for the supply of water, not for removal/ sewerage costs. I'm going to investigate this with Thames Water. Will let you know how I get on
Sounds interesting.... please do let us know how you get on.

According to this weeks Garden news, Thames water says "it is unlikely we will impose any restrictions this year" Environmenmt Agency Wales says "it does not expect to move to official drought status in the near future" Sutton and East Counties water says "We do not expect to have to introduce any restrictions on water use this summer" Bristol water says " it is not short of water and is not currently planning any water restrictions" Essex and Suffolk Water "We do not antiipate the need to impose restrictions but are continuing to monitor" likewise Veolia Water Central. Veolia Water South East "Even if we have a hot, dry summer, we do not think any water restrictions will be needed".

Looks like no need to panic guys.

I checked - Thames Water don't do this.
According to a letter in the magazine, neither do Southern Water.

So it's full rates for outside tap too.

I've been using the hosepipe this weekend, to pump water out of the overflowing water butts (can I have a rebate please, Anglian Water?)

No hosepies for me at the lottie because its not allowed, so watering cans are the only answer, good job the trough is at the bottom of my plot.
