You folks have made me realise just how much one can cram in. Thank you. Just starting the foundations for my g house so hopefully can impress you in a few months time. 1 idea I have is to put rain water storage in a couple of 1 cubic yard tanks under the greenhouse. Any one done that?

post #12???....looks like Aubergine to me

There are companies who build water storage containers underneath greenhouses. You need a pump to extract the water though! It's certainly very do-able if you are starting from scratch!

Piccies please- and your own new thread would be brill!!!!

Mine is empty, but am planning to fill it completely. I like the idea of growing toms in buckets.

                  Erection

Mine is empty bar a box full of staging, a couple of tools and some odd bits and bobs as it was only erected this past Saturday. Total novice to gardening but always look on here for inspiration and advice. Sod the expert website when you have everyone on here

I will upload a photograph of the new greenhouse in the next few days when I figure out how to do it

My 'present' thoughts are tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and chillies but would appreciate any advice (kid gloves and all that ) whatsoever.

Mine looks like a building site. I've taken up half of the chippings, dumped them over the other side and now am breaking up the sand, cement, and stone beneath to be able to plant directly in the ground in there.

My wife planted all the stuff in the garden many years ago and to be honest, apart from the odd weed and lawn mow, it has been left to its own devices! Cornish Palms they are and that has grown over the last 12 years to the lovely thing it is now

Looks like thee and me many visits here oh and following your blog about your greenhouse too!

It's amazing what some can squeeze into a small space. Loved the photos and to be honest, a bit envious. I only got a small crop of Toms from my GH last year. Chillies and aubergines came to nothing . Guess it was too cold for them.

Anyway, I stilled make use of the GH to overwinter a few crops like garlic, onions, peas and carrots. The Rhubarb crowns came before I had made their bed.

                                Rain

First real big downpour of water since my greenhouse was erected and big puddles have formed inside on one side.......I have a big drain in the centre which I can sweep the rain water down

I appreciate it needs to drain somewhere so probably not ideal but it is draining 'in' and not draining 'out' on one side only.

Any recommendations as to the best way to seal the metal frame onto my concrete base?
