View from the polytunnel door yesterday. The huge mass of peas on the left is obscuring broad beans, onions, cabbages and calabrese. First batch of tomatoes and squash plants are in on the right.

The morning after the day before
Seems the chillis and peppers survived the 35degs yesterday, embarrassed at how dry they are now.. (reminder to self .. water them!!)
Tigerella and Harbinger toms doing ok, tumbler going mad in baskets, first indoor kohl rabi ready to be harvested (amazingly fast cropper in the gh), Frise de Beuregard lettuce is the find of the season, and the oak leaf lettuces as reliable as ever. The Nepeta in pots have all come from scraps of 'dead' looking root cuttings last year..didn't think they stood a chance but they came back stronger and bigger than last year.Attached FilesJust go for it..

Sowed the kohl rabi seeds in plastic modules and kept them on the lower, shaded shelf of the staging to germinate and grow a bit. Transplanted them directly into the raised bed in the gh when they were a couple of inches high and watered every other day. Did the same with them when I had a polytunnel on the allotment and they duly obliged there also. The downside is that for the size of each mature bulb (or whatever it's called) they do take up quite bit of space once theyre grown. I usually plant a dozen in a patch a couple of feet square, which is well worth it.Just go for it..

I'm almost ashamed to put my photos up - you lot keep your GH's spick and span. In my defence it's my newspaper path that looks messy
GH 1
Peppers and cues
Peppers and chillies
My early toms.
My later toms
GH2
More toms, and a pepper in the corner
The other side is pretty much the same with a couple of cues and a pepper or two.Attached Files- ImageUploadedByGrow Your Own Forum1371022181.683636.jpg (0, 153 views)

April Fool's Day 2013
Today
My Lettuce mmmm.
Admittedly I need to get my staging in and pot a load of things on and tidy up etc etc... But, Rome and all that.Last edited by daviddevantnhisspiritwife; 12-06-2013, 10:29 PM.While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

Yup, we've had some off of a few of them already. Don't think salad leaves or herbs will be on the shopping list for quite a while.
Got spinach, rocket, basil, parsley and coriander plus a few types of lettuce. Which reminds me - I must sow more basil if I am to get to make myself pesto. The OH decimates a whole pot each time we have pasta. I really need to sow 10 pots every two weeks to keep up! :\ Perhaps 20 and I might get some for my own use. While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.
