      • I'm struggling this year, nowt wants to grow. I've even had to lay my overwintered Mange-Tout on the ground to see if it helps.

          • Yes, buckets catch rain water off the PT, which then feeds the pipes you can see inside the PT, the pipes have drip holes every foot.

              • My greenhouse is getting to machete levels...and it turns out that putting the ildi tomatoes in the middle of the row was a mistake. I can barely get by the trusses. Next year they go at an end if I grow them again.

                • It's amazing how quickly things have come on since I took the last pictures 5 weeks ago.

The tomatoes are nearly up to the eaves, although the fruit is only green as yet.

I have picked 6 cucumbers already off the three plants growing up the shady wall at the back.

There are sweet peppers and a chilli hiding behind the dahlia centre-right. The first pepper fruits are getting close to full size, although the chilli is taking its time.

I've put three melon plants in pots on the bench. They are taking over but you can already see some baby melons on there. I've never tried melons before so it's a bit exciting.

On the shelf I've got trays of wallflowers and sweet williams. It's too warm in there really so as soon as I've got my overwintering onions lifted from the allotment they are going in that space until I'm ready for them in the autumn.

Given the less-than-ideal siting of this greenhouse I'm really pleased with how things are coming along.

Tomatoes and sweetcorn coming along nicely though.

                          • Last couple of days have really brought things on. Cumbers are nearly up to ceiling height ready to run along the ropes. Some toms have reached 5 trusses and have been stopped, even the sweet peppers are starting to show.
